Review on Eat Vive Bars!

Before going vegan my favourite chocolate bar was Snickers so when I read a comment regarding the Eat Vive peanut bar tasting like Snickers I was like “oh lord I need to get some of these bars!!!!”

Eat Vive are doing a special at the moment where you can buy 12 bars for ยฃ12! Usually its 12 for ยฃ16. You get 4 each of salted caramel, hazelnut and peanut.

For some reason I was only charged ยฃ10.71 at the checkout. Not sure why but hey win for me!

These are protein bars made without artificial ingredients. They are vegan, gluten free and each bar packs 10grams of protein!

I didn’t really buy them for the protein though Haha I just wanted some chocolate bars!๐Ÿ˜œ

So here we go!

Salted Caramel 6/10

This is my least favourite. Doesn’t really taste much of salted caramel and wish they’d put a bit more of the crunchy bits in! Bit sickly sweet.

Hazelnut 7/10

I love hazelnut and chocolate together, just wish there would have been more chunky bits of nut in this bar. But I did enjoy it!

Peanut 8/10

This was my fave! But it’s no way near the taste of a Snickers bar!! Again I wish there were more chunky bits of peanuts! If you’re looking for a vegan Snickers like me, keep looking ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have been quite generous on the scoring because these bars are not supposed to be just a normal chocolate bar, they are protein bars after all and they are really tasty as far as protein bars go! They don’t taste gritty or artificially sweet.

Would I buy again? Probably not.. But was nice to try something new!

Keen to try their protein powder though!

Sainsbury’s Vegan Butternut squash Pizza!

Happy Tuesday! I still feel unwell, starting to think it might be the flu.. I HATE being sick. I’m used to going outside every day and I know I need to rest but I hate just sitting at home! And I’m terrified that my lil girl is gonna catch whatever I have! Fingers crossed she’ll be ok!

I had this pizza from sainsbury’s last night. It had been reduced so thought I’d give it a go. Was actually really nice but why are they so stingy with the “cheese”!! Was so little on there they might as well have left it off! But saying that I would buy it again, only when its reduced price though! Haha

Keen to try their other vegan pizza too! Its Indian spiced if I remember it correctly?๐Ÿค”

Hope you are all feeling well and not as rotten as me! If you got any good remedies suitable for a breastfeeding mama let me know??๐Ÿ˜‡

Proud mum of a 3 month old!

Today my beautiful baby Winter Belle turns 3 months! The time has gone so fast. Its amazing seeing how much she has grown and how much she’s learned!! Every day is an adventure with my lil girl!! So blessed to have my little girl!! She brings so much happiness in to our livesโค

Sharing my life with this bundle of joy is more than I could ever ask for!

Porridge, Move and Fever!

I have had a fever for 2 days now! So very frustrating especially as we got so much to do before the move!! I have managed to go through all my clothes already which is great. Ended up with 5 massive bags going to charity and Jack’s gonna start bringing stuff down to Bournemouth tomorrow! The new tenants are moving in on the 15th! Cant believe that we won’t be living here anymore by the end of next week! It’s been our home for 4 years. But who knows we might be back๐Ÿ˜†

Made this big bowl of porridge this morning. Been a while since I’ve had porridge, it’s been mostly semolina or overnight oats lately!

Oats with almond milk and topped with cinnamon, apple puree and frozen berries!

Hope you all are having a good Sunday!

Eating Vegan at Nandos!!

Anyone for a cheeky Nandos?? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Me and the husband absolutely love Nandos. He’s a meat eater and I’m a vegan (obvs) and we both love Nandos and must have gone hundreds of times! When I was pregnant with Winter we went pretty much every weekend!๐Ÿ˜œ

So easy to make their veggie stuff vegan by asking for no mayo or cheese on the salads, burger etc.

I always go for the Supergreen Pita (no mayo) and a side of chargrilled veg!

How good does it look??

I hope you all have a great Saturday! I’m currently feeling horrendous ๐Ÿคง got a fever.. Haven’t been sick like this for over a year! So scared that I’ll pass it on to my lil baby Winwin! Would hate to see my girl sick๐Ÿ˜ฅ fingers crossed I’ll feel better tomorrow!

Vegan Sponge Cake!

Its Friday!! Yeey. Jacks coming back home from Bournemouth today and the sun is shining. I have been sorting out my clothes this week and got 6 huge bin bags full of stuff that’s going to charity! Feels so good to have a clear out๐Ÿ˜Š

As its Friday why not make this easy marble sponge cake! Or as we call it in Sweden Sockerkaka which directly translate to sugarcake!

Sorry about the awkward measurements but I have converted this from a swedish recipe!

  • 1 cup + 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup minus 1 tbsp almond flour
  • 100g melted vegan butter
  • 200ml plant milk
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cup + 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • Half of a mashed banana
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. However, do not mix in the cocoa powder. Mix the melted butter, plant milk and the mashed banana then add this to the dry ingredients. Pour half of the batter in to another bowl and add the cocoa powder to one of the bowls. Don’t over mix the batter, gently mixing with a spatula is enough. Grease and flour a baking tin, pour in the batter one bowl at a time then run a fork through it to get the marble effect. Bake at 175ยฐ for 35 – 45 minutes. The time depends on the ripeness and size of the banana. Check your cake for the first time with a knife at the 35 minute mark. It should come out clean.

I should have run the fork through it a few more time to get more of a marble effect!

Happy Friday!!

My Usual Breakfast!

I love a good breakfast! I tend to go for a sweeter breaky rather than savoury, and I’m all about porridge and vegan yogurt at the mo!

I love Alpros new unsweetened soygurt. Super tasty! Chuck in some berries, banana, bran flakes or dried berries. What ever you fancy! Yum!

Oats is a classic! So cheap and versatile! When it’s cold I love having porridge, I usually put in 2 ton of cinnamon Haha and when I want to treat myself I go heavy on the golden syrup!๐Ÿ˜‰ Overnight oats are a current fave! Check out my overnight oats recipe here. Semolina porridge is another huge favourite, so easy to make and I actually prefer to keep it very simple, it doesn’t need a lot of toppings or added flavours. I could eat semolina porridge on it’s own without anything! Click here for my semolina recipe!

And when all else fail a bowl of cereal with almond milk will do! ๐Ÿ˜
